Sharon Jebb

Welcome to my website!

I’m a freelance lecturer, and speaker on literature, theology and Christian spirituality. I have studied English (B.A. Hons, Queen’s University Belfast) and Theology (MCS Regent College; PhD University of St Andrews). In my teaching and writing, I greatly enjoy delving deeply into the two disciplines and find that exploring literature (whether fiction or non-fiction) is a very powerful way to facilitate thought and learning. There is a natural complementarity; each discipline enhances the other.

I currently lecture at Regent College, Vancouver, Union Theological College, Belfast and the University of Aberdeen. When not doing that, I can often be found reading a book, or researching the next book which I want to buy. Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, I am based in Aberdeen, Scotland with my husband George Smith (hence I am also known as Sharon Jebb Smith).

‘Reading is at the threshold of the spiritual life; it can introduce us to it.’
